AECOM buys Glatting Jackson


AECOM Technology Corporation (NYSE: ACM - News), a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients around the world, has acquired Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin. Both firms have done or are doing work for Osceola County.
The 90 employees from GJKA will enhance AECOM’s offerings in the areas of environmental services, landscape architecture, planning, transportation and urban design, according to a press release.

Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer. “These new members of the AECOM family will enable us to better meet our clients’ evolving planning, design and development needs as they enjoy increased professional-development opportunities as part of our company.”


The Orlando Sentinel reported: A Fortune 500 company based in California said Tuesday it has acquired Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin Inc., a long-time Orlando urban-planning firm whose local projects have included Baldwin Park and "medical city" development at Lake Nona.

AECOM Technology Corp. of Los Angeles said the high-profile Orlando firm is its first acquisition in Central Florida. Financial terms were not disclosed.

AECOM is an engineering and architectural giant with 45,000 employees worldwide, said Paul Gennaro, the company's chief communications officer.

As recently as last month, Glatting Jackson had said it employed more than 100 people in its downtown Orlando headquarters. The company also has offices in Atlanta, Denver and West Palm Beach.

The company's high-profile projects have included downtown Orlando's "creative village" plan for digital-media businesses; the master plan for Baldwin Park, the upscale community that replaced the naval training center in Orlando's northeast corner; and theUniversity of Central Florida's Health Sciences Campus plan for Lake Nona.

Publicly traded AECOM reported a profit of $187 million on revenue of $6.1 billion for the 12 months that ended Sept. 30. That represented increases of 27 percent and 18 percent, respectively, from 2008. The figures did not include operations the company had divested.

The company performs planning, engineering and program-management work for government and commercial customers worldwide. Its recent deals have ranged from transportation design in Texas and environmental work for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to urban planning in the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong.
