Kissimmee company expands with help from county, state

KISSIMMEE – An Osceola County company whose products help troubleshoot defense industry electronics and mass transportation systems announced an expansion Monday. Diagnosys Systems Inc. has been in Kissimmee since 1994. The company manufactures and sells Automatic Test Equipment for fault finding and repair of electronic circuits used primarily by the defense industry and mass transportation companies.
“Diagnosys started over 15 years ago in Osceola County with a staff of two in a one- room office. Since then we’ve continued to outgrow three separate locations and expanded to 38 people nationwide, with our headquarters in Kissimmee,” said Tim Webb, President – U.S. Operations. “Thanks to Osceola County’s assistance we’re able to continue this trend by expanding our Kissimmee facility by bringing manufacturing, programming and repair services to the area.”
Called Project Electron Boost, the expansion is committed to creating 14 new, high-wage jobs with an average salary of $34,548 – 115 percent over the Osceola County average.
The state of Florida and the county are offering the company a $84,000 Qualified Targeted Industry incentive. The county’s portion is $16,800 and the incentive is only paid after the jobs are created and verified by the state.
“It is always good to see an established company expand,” said County Commissioner Brandon Arrington, whose district is home to the business. “Creating jobs in today’s economy is important for all Osceola County residents. The fact that Diagnosys’ testing equipment supports our military is an added bonus. It’s good to know that Osceola County has such an important role in supporting our troops.”
The company is also making a $280,000 capital investment to expand its facility off Hoagland Boulevard in the Kissimmee/Osceola County Enterprise Zone – a 5-square mile area that includes the Kissimmee Gateway Airport.
Because of its location in the Enterprise Zone, the company qualified for an additional cash incentive for the jobs it will create. That incentive is part of the $84,000 QTI package the company will receive as the jobs are created.
Based in the UK, Diagnosys has more than 30 years in the test and repair industry. Its Kissimmee Headquarters services much of the U.S. and Latin America.
The company’s test solutions in support of the aging AWACS Radar systems helped the United States Air Force save an estimated $12 million in 2007. Other customers include Mitsubishi Electric and the Naval Air Systems Command.
