Ortega named new CTO for Micro Key Solutions

Newly appointed CTO Luis Ortega.

KISSIMMEE -- Micro Key Solutions named Luis Ortega as its new chief technology officer Tuesday. Ortega has been a member of Micro Key’s staff for 12 years, leading up to this promotion.
The company’s president, Victoria Ferro, noted that though former president, Wayne Torrens, remains active in a consultative role with the company, he is no longer a part of the daily technological research the company undertakes. She added, “He was able to do so because we have been grooming our new technology leader for years — or maybe he’s been grooming us. I’m not sure which came first.”
Ortega commented, “In the past year, we’ve been working on improving the user experience — making it more efficient, increasing return on investment and supporting a paperless environment. In this new phase of Micro Key, it is my goal to apply the latest and greatest technology, not just to keep making our users more efficient, but also to allow them to expand their service and product lines to make them more profitable in this hard economy.” The new features Micro Key is working on include dealer synchronization and expanding cloud-based services, Ortega said.
The announcement was webcast as is available for viewing at http://webcast.microkey.com/microkey/webcast/. Ortega and other representatives from Micro Key will be present at ISC West in booth No. 11107.
